About Life Makers Foundation
Life Makers Foundation (LMF) is an Egyptian youth-led, voluntary, and non-governmental umbrella organization. It was established in 2011 to foster youth engagement in addressing emerging challenges at the local and global levels. Since its establishment, LMF has worked closely with community-based organizations to build youth capacities and support their efforts to develop their societies and respond to humanitarian needs and disasters. LMF operates in 24 governorates through a nonformal network of partner youth-led organizations and registered offices across Egypt, with a broad portfolio of projects and local initiatives in the sectors of Health, Education, Livelihoods, Humanitarian Assistance, Environment, and Youth Participation.
LMF adopts the core principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence in its operations to ensure the provision of assistance with no discrimination towards differences in ethnicity, religion, race, or any other consideration. LMF provides development and humanitarian interventions for the most vulnerable while preserving their dignity and ensuring their participation.
Life Makers is a voluntary, non-governmental, non-religious, non-political, and non-partisan movement that was launched in 2003 to mobilize the best of the human spirit to alleviate human suffering and protect human life and human rights.
About Project
The project aims to enhance livelihood opportunities and economic inclusion for refugees and asylum seekers in Greater Cairo, while fostering social cohesion between refugee and host communities. Special emphasis is placed on women, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable groups including gender-based violence survivors and female-headed households.
Job Purpose
The Project Coordinator will oversee the implementation of the "Livelihood and Economic Inclusion Support" project, ensuring timely delivery of activities, adherence to objectives, and coordination between stakeholders. The role focuses on self-employment support, soft skills and vocational training, job placement, and social cohesion events for refugees and host communities in Greater Cairo
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Implementation & Coordination
- Lead day-to-day execution of project activities according to the work plan and timeline.
- Coordinate field assessments, beneficiary mapping, and selection processes for self-employment, skills training, and social cohesion components.
- Organize and monitor business development trainings and mentorship programs for at least 300 self-employment beneficiaries.
- Support in facilitating soft skills training, vocational training, job fairs, and placements for at least 160 beneficiaries, ensuring alignment with market demands.
- Support in planning and executing of social cohesion events (e.g., cultural festivals, community dialogues) engaging a minimum of 460 refugee beneficiaries and 1,500 host community members.
2. Monitoring & Reporting
- Collect beneficiaries’ data using KoBo and submit regular reports.
- Conduct field visits to verify business sustainability (minimum 6 months active) and job placement success (minimum 3 months employment).
- Address risks (e.g., beneficiary dropouts, market shifts) using the project’s risk mitigation framework.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or related field.
Experience:
- 2+ years in project coordination, preferably in livelihoods, refugee support, or economic inclusion.
- Familiarity with vocational training, and job matching programs.
- Experience working with vulnerable groups (refugees, PwDs, youth, etc..).
Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in data collection tools (KoBo) and reporting “Preferred”.
- Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken).
