About Life Makers Foundation

Life Makers Foundation is an Egyptian registered National youth-led, voluntary and non-governmental organization (Reg. Number 839). Since its establishment in 2011, LMF worked on youth development to build their capacities to develop societies and respond to humanitarian needs and disasters. It works directly and together along with partner organizations in 24 Egyptian governorates in youth development, education, health, livelihood, food security and basic needs sectors.

LMF adopts the core principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence in its operations to ensure the provision of assistance with no discrimination towards difference in ethnicity, religion, race or any other consideration. LMF provides development and humanitarian interventions for the most vulnerable while preserving their dignity and ensuring their participation.

Life Makers is a voluntary non-governmental, non-religious, non-political and non-partisan movement that was launched in 2003 for mobilizing the best of the human spirit to alleviate human suffering and to protect human life and human rights.


About the Project:

SAWA project is a 3-year project that targets refugees, asylum seekers, and vulnerable migrants, with particular focus on Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) in the target areas of Greater Cairo, Alexandria, and Damietta. Their key needs and constraints include limited access to basic services in particular health and education, access of justice, language barriers, limited livelihood opportunities, discrimination, and GBV. The project is funded by the European Union with 2 million euros and is expected to run between Aug 2024 – Aug 2027. The project aims to enhance the socio-economic prospects and dignity of migrants in vulnerable situations, refugees and of asylum-seekers under protection, and vulnerable host communities in Egypt.

The final beneficiaries of the project include the overall vulnerable migrant, refugee, asylum seeker populations in the communities to be targeted, including also host families.  At least 8.000-10.000 beneficiaries are expected to benefit from the project indirectly, by a restrictive estimate, in the target communities.  

 

Job Purpose:

Under the supervision of the Project Officer, Volunteer Field Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of the project's objectives through effective day-to-day work of the project's activities and operations.

The Volunteer Field Coordinator Will Support and the implementation of the project components (Livelihoods and Health & child protection and Education), ensuring activities align with objectives, timelines, and planned.

The Volunteer Field Coordinator main responsibility is to assist in Planning for project activities according to the project plan while ensuring effective management of the project resources, the implementation of partners. In addition to maintaining all documents and files related to the project in all aspects and providing technical and operational and administrative reports on the project's activities.

S/he will work closely with the Project Officer to strengthen protection and resilience for target beneficiaries. This role is crucial for ensuring effective community outreach, stakeholder collaboration, and project monitoring. In addition to undertaking several other administrative tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Key Accountability Areas
  • ·       Coordination of Field Activities: Support the Project Officer in organizing sectoral activities, including awareness campaigns, community outreach, and other field-based initiatives across health, livelihoods, protection, and education sectors.
  • ·       Community Engagement: Work closely with beneficiaries, including refugees, migrants, and vulnerable local populations, to implement activities and ensure their active participation.
  • ·       Administrative Support: Prepare field reports, assist in data collection, follow up on activities and facilitators, and maintain accurate documentation for all project components.
  • ·       Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with local NGOs, government agencies, and community organizations to facilitate the effective delivery of services and resources.
  • ·       Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E): Collaborate with the M&E team on assessments, surveys, and data collection efforts to track project outcomes across all sectors.
  • Deliverables
    • Monthly Timesheets: Submit signed timesheets to the supervisor.
    • Field Activity Reports: Provide detailed reports on field visits, beneficiary engagement, and key outcomes in various project areas.
    • Monthly & Final Report: Prepare a brief summary of lessons learned and personal insights during and at the end of the volunteer period.

Job Requirements   

  • 1-2 years of experience in humanitarian, community development, or project coordination roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse beneficiaries and stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel frequently to project sites in Alexandria and Damietta.
