About Life Makers Foundation

Life Makers Foundation (LMF) is an Egyptian youth-led, voluntary, and non-governmental umbrella organization. It was established in 2011 to foster youth engagement in addressing emerging challenges at the local and global levels. Since its establishment, LMF has worked closely with community-based organizations to build youth capacities and support their efforts to develop their societies and respond to humanitarian needs and disasters. LMF operates in 24 governorates through a nonformal network of partner youth-led organizations and registered offices across Egypt, with a broad portfolio of projects and local initiatives in the sectors of Health, Education, Livelihoods, Humanitarian Assistance, Environment, and Youth Participation.

LMF adopts the core principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence in its operations to ensure the provision of assistance with no discrimination towards differences in ethnicity, religion, race, or any other consideration. LMF provides development and humanitarian interventions for the most vulnerable while preserving their dignity and ensuring their participation.

Project Summary

Plan International is an independent global rights organization striving to a just world advances children’s rights and equality for girls. For over 76 years, we have supported girls, boys, and their communities around the world to gain the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to claim their rights, free themselves from poverty and live positive fulfilling lives.

The project aims to inform National stakeholders and coordinate around inclusive polices that protect and promote the rights of children and girls in Egypt through advance policy dialogue and National level advocacy in collaboration with government authorities, civil society organizations, and key national stakeholders. Through structured mapping, coordination, and consultation processes, the project will identify gaps in polices and systems affecting children, girls, and mobilize collective actions to address them.

Job Purpose

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, Sponsorships Project, the Project Officer will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of the project's objectives through effective day-to-day work of the project's activities and operations. The Project Officer's main responsibility is to assist in executing the planned activities according to the project plan while ensuring effective management of the project resources, the implementing partners and the donor.

The Project Officer will need to establish a good working relationship and maintain effective communications with key stakeholders, including the government and other development partners. S/he will work closely with the Project Manager to manage the assigned budget, including planning and managing expenses and financial reporting, external consultant(s), and service providers. In addition to undertaking several other administrative tasks as required. The project is implemented in Greater Cairo with some interventions in some governorate, and the role is to be based the field. The duration of this role is on six months, renewable based on the availability of funding.

Requirements  

Program Support

  • Assist in the implementation of the project's activities while ensuring timely delivery of the project plan according to the agreed timescale, M&E plan, and resources (budget).
  • Assist with administrative support to the project and the implementing partners and liaise with all stakeholders to provide timely support to the project beneficiaries. 
  • Assist with the quality implementation of all services and external consultancies delivered for the project. 
  • Assist with the M&E team to embed the best practices in monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities of the project, including assessments, focus groups, and surveys based on the M&E plan. 
  • Undertake field visits as required or assign other staff as appropriate.

Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain an effective and collaborative relationship with the project partners and the donor toward achieving the project objectives.
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders, including local organizations, relevant government authorities, partners, and project beneficiaries. 
  • Support the project team and target beneficiaries to establish communications with relevant stakeholders at the community level (private sectors, service providers, NGOs, and local government partners) to support the project implementation. 

Experience 

  Education : A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. General development studies would be an advantage.

  Years of Experience :  2–3 years of experience

Experience :   

  • experience in project/operations support within the development sector.
  •  Specific experience in projects related to youth employment, livelihoods, entrepreneurship, or labour market interventions.
  • Previous experience working with or for international donor-funded projects is required.

Skills

  •  Strong project cycle management understanding.
  •  Good financial literacy and experience with budget tracking.
  •  Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  •  Experience in data collection and basic M&E practices.
  •  Excellent report-writing skills.

Language proficiency 

Excellent English and Arabic language skills, both spoken and written.
