Life Makers Foundation is an Egyptian registered National youth-led, voluntary and non-governmental organization (Reg. Number 839). Since its establishment in 2011, LMF worked on youth development to build their capacities to develop societies and respond to humanitarian needs and disasters. It works directly and together along with partner organizations in 24 Egyptian governorates in youth development, education, health, livelihood, food security and basic needs sectors.

LMF adopts the core principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence in its operations to ensure the provision of assistance with no discrimination towards difference in ethnicity, religion, race or any other consideration. LMF provides development and humanitarian interventions for the most vulnerable while preserving their dignity and ensuring their participation.

Life Makers is a voluntary non-governmental, non-religious, non-political and non-partisan movement that was launched in 2003 for mobilizing the best of the human spirit to alleviate human suffering and to protect human life and human rights.

Job Description

Job Purpose : 

Under the supervision of Basic needs senior officer, is responsible for planning, implementation, and follow-up of Basic needs activities/projects in the assigned areas.  


Responsibilites     

        Tasks and objectives to be achieved:   

     
·       Assist life makers in its head quarter in Cairo on all issue related to basic needs section including preparation of plans, budgeting, assessments and Bill of quantities (BOQ)

      ·       Assist in preparing of technical specifications of tender documents and evaluation on all aspects related to basic needs section includes (food and cash distribution, WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) .

      ·       Assist in the procurement of basic needs equipment’s, assets, and preparation of technical specifications, evaluations, monitoring of distribution or installation.

      ·       Undertake field mission visit to assess the situation in all life makers’ premises.

      ·       Monitoring and supervision of the refurbishment and implementation/distribution works.

      ·       Set up a mechanism for assurance of acceptable quality of the works in compliance with the best possible standards and in coordination with MEAL team and volunteers.

       ·       Provide technical advices and supervision of works for the volunteers all over the states in Egypt

     ·       Regularly update the supervisor and Operations Unit on progress made, challenges faced and lessons learnt.

     ·       Assist in preparation of interim payments if required and all its required  supporting documents such as quantity tracking report, quality reports and certificate of interim completion

      ·       Report of supervisor any possible deviation from original plan/ schedule advising on the best most cost-effective methods to remedy identified problem.

      ·       Perform any other duties related to the work within the scope of this TOR as required.

      ·       OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AS ASSIGNED BYLINE MANAGER.

 

Capacity Building

·       Identify learning and training opportunities for the basic needs team and partners and work as a mentor and role model for less experienced staff. 

·       Manage and motivate the basic needs team to perform highly in their respective roles and responsibilities. This will include leading on staffing structure, recruitment, performance management, and implementing staff welfare policy.

·       Support the Life Makers’ volunteers and working to build their capacity.

Partner Management

·       Participate to establish, maintain, and improve active and regular working relationships with government authorities, donors, partner agencies including major institutional donors, and local and international NGOs

·       Oversee program implementation of existing partners and ensure appropriate partners are engaged in the activities

Support the program officers to identify partners and linkages (private sectors, service providers, NGOs, and local government partners) to support the basic needs interventions

Job Requirments   

      

  • ·    Education to B.Sc. /BA level in a relevant subject or equivalent field experience.


  •  ·   Minimum 1 year in a similar position.

  •  ·   At least 5 years of relevant professional experience with a humanitarian aid organization.

  •  ·     Professional work experience on basic needs approaches and monitoring and reporting of project      activities in the relevant field in multi-stakeholder partnerships and collaborations.

  •  ·     Excellent computer skills including MS Office, working knowledge of MS Project is a plus

  •  ·     Flexibility in time and ability to travel for long durations inside the country.

       ·      Good Personal Relationship skills.
