Background

Life Makers Foundation is an Egyptian registered National youth-led, voluntary and non-governmental organization (Reg. Number 839). Since its establishment in 2011, LMF worked on youth development to build their capacities to develop societies and respond to humanitarian needs and disasters. It works directly and together along with partner organizations in 24 Egyptian governorates in youth development, education, health, livelihood, food security and basic needs sectors.

LMF adopts the core principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence in its operations to ensure the provision of assistance with no discrimination towards differences in ethnicity, religion, race or any other consideration. LMF provides development and humanitarian interventions for the most vulnerable while preserving their dignity and ensuring their participation.

Life Makers is a voluntary, non-governmental, non-religious, non-political, and non-partisan movement that was launched in 2003 to mobilize the best of the human spirit to alleviate human suffering and protect human life and human rights.

Job Purpose  

Life Makers Foundation works closely with different stakeholders internally and externally from our partners and donors, LMF Communications Team is responsible for managing and maintaining those relationships to keep a positive image about the foundation and to focus on its achievements. The Communication Officer will be responsible for Implementing the communications plan by supporting and delivering a range of communications activities, providing research and analysis, and prioritizing effectively.


Job Key Accountability Areas 

·  Responsible for Creating social media content in both Arabic and English regarding International programs at LMF.

·  Manage VIP account for INGOs, and Foreigner Partners.

·  Coordinate with Media production Teams; internally and externally regarding international portfolio.

· To develop working relationships with key external stakeholders and partners.

· Handle media enquiries and create effective news releases to gain positive press coverage

· Write, edit, and distribute English content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports,     speeches, and other marketing material that communicates the organization's activities, products and/or services.

· Seek opportunities for collaboration internationally

· Coordinate with media Platforms regarding LMF`s projects and campaigns.

· Collaborate with management to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on our target     audience.

· Respond to media inquiries, arrange interviews, and act as a spokesperson for the foundation regarding     international portfolio.

· Regularly meet with and conduct interviews with media personnel in collaboration with the other communication         Officer.

·       Translate the related documents to LMF.

·       Supervise directly the production needed as content and script for documenting and marketing videos

·       Ensures all content complies with LMF standards and style guides

·       Develop working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and partners.

·       Conduct surveys or contact people of the target audience to understand their views

·       Arrange news conferences for essential announcements.

·       Work closely with the LM Community team regarding event planning.

·       Coordinate with Marketing Consulting Company.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills that enables him/her to write press releases, speak at press events    and relay information between foundation Executives and department heads.

·  Advanced language Knowledge.

· Attention to detail

·  Knowledge of the Associated Press style guide

·   Ability to work as part of a team

·  Knowledge and a good understanding of Microsoft Office

·   Knowledge of technical skills such as: graphic designing, photographing and video editing will be preferable.

·   Proficiency in design and publishing software.


Qualifications 

· A Bachelor`s degree in Communication

·  4 years experience, 2 of them experience in relevant position

·  Proficiency in English; writing, speaking and reading

·  Ability to translate branding content from Arabic to English and from English to Arabic.

·   Understand the best practices of main social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc

·  Must possess exceptional writing skills and be able to compose engaging and accurate content

·  Strong communicator who works well independently and with a team
