About Life Makers Foundation
Life Makers Foundation (LMF) is an Egyptian youth-led, voluntary, and non-governmental umbrella organization. It was established in 2011 to foster youth engagement in addressing emerging challenges at the local and global levels. Since its establishment, LMF has worked closely with community-based organizations to build youth capacities and support their efforts to develop their societies and respond to humanitarian needs and disasters. LMF operates in 24 governorates through a non-formal network of partner youth-led organizations and registered offices across Egypt, with a broad portfolio of projects and local initiatives in the sectors of Health, Education, Livelihoods, Humanitarian Assistance, Environment, and Youth Participation.
LMF adopts the core principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence in its operations to ensure the provision of assistance with no discrimination towards differences in ethnicity, religion, race, or any other consideration. LMF provides development and humanitarian interventions for the most vulnerable while preserving their dignity and ensuring their participation.

Job Purpose:
The Emergency Response field Officer acts as the operational field lead for Life Makers Egypt’s emergency interventions.
He ensures that emergency plans are transformed into effective, timely, and principled field actions.
This position bridges planning and field reality — coordinating with local actors, supervising distribution and shelter operations, conducting in-kind inspections, and ensuring quality, safety, and accountability in all humanitarian responses.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Field Operations and Rapid Response
- Lead on-ground implementation of emergency response activities (needs assessments, distributions, shelter setup, NFI delivery, etc.).
- Supervise field teams and volunteers to ensure smooth execution of response activities.
- Act as focal point during field missions for coordination with local authorities, community representatives, and partner NGOs.
- Identify field priorities and risks and provide immediate feedback to the Emergency Response Project Manager for decision-making.
- Support the activation and monitoring of emergency contingency plans and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
2. Planning and Operational Readiness
- Translate response plans into detailed field action plans and schedules.
- Contribute to scenario planning, resource mapping, and emergency preparedness checklists.
- Participate in rapid needs assessments, vulnerability mapping, and beneficiary selection processes.
- Ensure response actions are aligned with operational strategies, humanitarian principles, and donor requirements.
3. Quality Assurance and In-kind Inspection
- Oversee quality control for all in-kind items before and during field distributions.
- Conduct on-site inspection for compliance with specifications, safety, and usability standards.
- Ensure proper documentation and tracking of materials from warehouse dispatch to field delivery.
- Report any irregularities, damages, or discrepancies immediately for corrective action.
4. Coordination and Field Representation
- Coordinate daily operations with logistics, MEAL, and procurement teams to ensure field needs are met.
- Represent Life Makers Egypt in local coordination platforms and field meetings when delegated.
- Maintain continuous communication between the field teams and the Emergency Response Project Manager.
- Build and sustain trust-based relationships with community leaders and local authorities to ensure smooth implementation.
5. Information Management and Reporting
- Collect and validate field data (beneficiary lists, distribution records, activity reports).
- Provide real-time situational updates and contribute to daily and post-mission reporting.
- Highlight key field observations, challenges, and lessons learned to improve future planning and interventions.
- Support visualization of response data in coordination with the information management team.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree .
- Specialized training in humanitarian operations, disaster management, or first response is a strong asset.
- Certificate in Emergency Management , Social Sciences, or any related field.
Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in humanitarian or development field operations, preferably in emergency response.
- Proven experience in implementing emergency projects, conducting field assessments, and leading field teams.
- Experience in coordinating multi-sector responses (shelter, food, NFI, health, WASH) is desirable.
Skills :
- Excellent understanding of humanitarian standards (Sphere, CHS, Do No Harm).
- Strong skills in operational planning, field coordination, and rapid deployment logistics.
- Competence in using digital tools for data collection and reporting (Excel, GIS, etc.).
- Familiarity with first aid, risk management, and field safety procedures.
- High adaptability, composure, and problem-solving ability in dynamic field conditions.
